Jinzhu is a mischievous cat spirit able to assume a human form. Though she is a black cat, her lucky name and her auspicious birth date on the first day of the year of the Cat has reversed her black cat fortunes - instead of bringing bad luck, she blesses all who cross paths with her with good luck instead! Xiang, her family name, means "good fortune", and Jinzhu, "golden pearl", refers to the way her golden eyes sparkle with mischief whenever she decides to play a prank on someone...though, for her, a prank involves leaving a small gift of gold coins at somebody's door or surprising a family with a sparkling clean home instead of anything malicious.
When she's not pranking the populace, she acts like any other cat would: she's fond of sleeping in sunbeams, chasing mice and butterflies, and being lavished with affection.
